I started photographing Airbnb properties and holiday lets across Somerset back in 2019, and it's become one of my favourite areas of work. There's something uniquely satisfying about helping a host transform their listing from "just another rental" into something that genuinely stands out.
What I've learned from shooting dozens of holiday lets, from converted barns on the Levels to Georgian townhouses in Bath, is that Airbnb photography is fundamentally different from estate agent photography. Guests aren't buying a property; they're buying an experience. So I focus on the details that sell that experience: the view from the bedroom window, the wood burner ready to light, the outdoor dining area at golden hour.
Most of my Airbnb clients see a noticeable jump in bookings within the first month. One host in Glastonbury told me her occupancy went from 60% to 92% after I updated her photos, and she raised her nightly rate by £15 at the same time. That's the kind of return that makes this work genuinely rewarding.
