Property Photo Guy is just me, not an agency. I'm a photographer based in Somerset, and over 17 years I've learned that a lodge or a hut needs a different approach to a house, because the setting and the light are doing most of the selling.
That usually means being on site before sunrise or staying until the fire pit is lit, and it means treating the hot tub and the view as seriously as the bedroom. I'm the one who turns up, takes the photographs, edits them, and gets them back to you within 48 hours.

A pre-launch shoot for an A-frame eco lodge set in open Herefordshire farmland. Architecture, hot tub, fire pit and the mezzanine loft, all tied back to the view that the whole building is designed around.

Most glamping listings are photographed in a single mid-morning visit, the same way a house would be. It produces a competent set that misses the point, because nobody imagines their stay at 10am on a flat grey Tuesday.
A glamping site does not look like one thing. Dawn is quiet and intimate, midday shows the practical detail, and dusk is when the fire pit is lit and the hut glows. Photograph one slot only and you are selling a third of the experience.
Nobody books a shepherd's hut for the square footage. They book the view, the seclusion, the fact that there is nothing else in sight. That has to be visible in the photographs, which usually means landscape frames and drone work, not just interiors.
Wood-fired hot tubs, outdoor baths, fire pits and decks are the reason someone chooses your listing over the one next to it. They deserve their own carefully lit frames rather than appearing as a corner of a wide shot.
Luxury glamping competes on nightly rate, not volume. If the first frame a guest sees does not justify the price, they filter you out before reading a word of the description.
A one-bedroom cabin is a short list of rooms on paper. Shot as an inventory it looks like a floor plan, shot as an arrival sequence it feels like an escape. That ordering is a deliberate decision made on site.
Direct booking sites, Airbnb, Canopy & Stars, Sykes and Instagram all crop differently. A set built for all of them at once avoids awkward compromises later.
The balance sits further outdoors than a standard letting shoot, because that is where the booking decision is actually made.
The single frame that carries the listing. Usually shot at golden hour or dusk, composed so the structure sits in its landscape rather than being cut out of it, and often repeated across two or three light conditions.
Shot with steam rising and the surroundings visible, because the appeal is bathing outdoors rather than the tub itself. At Ochre Hill the freestanding stone bath was photographed repeatedly across the shoot, from different distances and angles.
Lit fire pits, warm window light and the last colour in the sky. These frames do the emotional work that daytime photography cannot, and they are consistently the images owners use most.
Small spaces are harder, not easier. Wide frames from the corner, careful handling of the glazing so views hold instead of blowing out, and enough coverage that a guest understands the layout without a floor plan.
Mezzanine lofts and hut bedrooms are usually where the light is most difficult and most rewarding. Dawn light picks out texture in bedding and timber in a way midday sun flattens completely.
Aerials prove the claim. If your listing says secluded, an image showing no neighbours, no roads and no visual noise settles the question in a way words never will.
At Collie Shepherds Huts near Langport I photographed the same two huts in three separate sessions across one day. This is how that set was built.
On site before sunrise, working with soft directional light that picks out texture in bedding and timber. Warm interior lighting against the cool blue outside creates depth that a midday frame cannot replicate. These are the images that land with someone browsing at 10pm.
The kitchen, the shower room, the hot tub, the outdoor spaces in full sun. This is the honest, informative part of the set, the frames that answer a guest's practical questions before they need to ask them.
Fire pit lit, interior glowing through the windows, the last colour in the sky. Owners consistently report these are the images they use most, across listings, social media and paid advertising.
Aerials shot when the light is right rather than whenever the shoot happens to finish. They establish the seclusion, the position within the landscape, and the absence of anything the listing would rather not mention.

Photography that pays for itself
On a typical holiday let at £120 to £180 a night, a small number of additional bookings can cover the shoot. Airbnb reports 19% more bookings on average for listings using its professional photography programme, although results vary by listing, and the images keep working for years afterwards.

Signature shoots aren't priced by bedroom count. A two bed lodge with a beautifully considered interior often takes as long to photograph properly as a five bed house, because the time goes into the light and the detail rather than the floor area. So these are booked by the day.

It should pay for itself, quickly
At luxury nightly rates, a Signature shoot is typically earned back on the first booking it wins you. From there it is pure return: the same set keeps filling your calendar, at a higher nightly rate, for years.
Signature isn't a bigger package. It's a different kind of shoot: fewer, better frames, made with the time and attention that a property with real character needs. If what you want is a large library to rotate through, Airbnb Premium is the better buy.
What drives the time is how many spaces you want to feature, whether we're styling and resetting between shots, whether we're waiting for the right light, and whether there are exteriors, grounds or aerials to cover. Tell me what you have in mind and I'll say which makes sense.

Luxury glamping competes on nightly rate rather than volume. A hut at £220 a night and a hut at £120 a night are often physically similar, and what separates them in a guest's mind is almost entirely the photography. If the first frame does not carry the price, the listing is filtered out before the description is read.
There is also a platform argument. Owners typically sell across their own direct booking site, Airbnb, and a curated listing platform such as Canopy & Stars or Host Unusual, each with different crops and different editorial expectations. A set built with all of them in mind, including deliberate portrait frames, avoids the compromises that come from cropping landscape images months later.
If your site is new, the best window is the week the styling is finished and before the first guest arrives. Everything is pristine, nothing needs working around, and you launch with a complete set rather than adding images as you go. That window does not come back once you are trading.
