UK Circuits wanted a remote visual introduction to its printed circuit board and electronic manufacturing facility in Middleton, Manchester. I created a hosted Matterport 3D model that connects the captured production environment in one navigable space.
The purpose was clarity. A remote client or partner can open the tour, move through the captured areas and develop a better understanding of the facility layout before a conversation or visit.
01The Brief
Manufacturing spaces can be difficult to explain through a small set of still photographs alone. Individual images show particular machines or work areas, but they do not always make the relationship between those areas clear.
For UK Circuits, the Matterport format provided a connected overview of the captured factory environment at Greengate Industrial Estate in Middleton. The model is a visual introduction to the space. It is not independent evidence of production capacity, precision, compliance, output or operational performance.
02Capturing a Working Production Environment
I scanned the facility point by point, choosing positions that connected the larger production floor and work areas without breaking the route through the model. The resulting dollhouse and interior views give users two complementary ways to understand the space.
The dollhouse view establishes the overall layout. The ground-level walkthrough then lets a user follow the captured route through the facility and inspect the environment in more detail.
03Explore the UK Circuits Matterport Tour
The tour gives remote clients and partners a practical first look at the captured facility when an immediate in-person visit is not possible. Any current technical, quality or production information should still come directly from UK Circuits.
04Shareable While Hosting Remains Active
I can provide a direct Matterport link and the embed needed for a website. The model is hosted by Matterport and remains available while the relevant hosting is active, so I set out the hosting position in the quote rather than presenting the model as a permanent client-owned file.
The hosted tour is usually live within a week of scanning. If photography is commissioned during the same visit, its delivery timing is confirmed separately.
05Planning a Factory or Industrial Matterport Brief
A useful brief identifies the site, approximate floor area, operational hours, areas that may be captured, areas that must remain private, intended audience and target date. For live industrial sites, I also agree access, induction and safety requirements before arrival.
