It’s not as famous as its neighbours, Wells and Frome, but it has a character all of its own. I’ve often found myself wandering through the town centre, admiring the architecture before a shoot. It’s this sense of history that I always try to capture in my photographs of properties here. One of the jewels in Shepton Mallet’s crown is Kilver Court. While the designer village has changed over the years, the gardens remain a stunning oasis. The backdrop of the viaduct is iconic, and it’s this blend of industrial heritage and natural beauty that you see reflected in the local property scene. Just a stone's throw from the town, you’re into the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). This is where the landscape really opens up and you find some truly special properties. As a photographer who prefers to work with natural light and High Dynamic Range (HDR) techniques, the Mendips are a dream. It allows me to create images that are both true-to-life and have that little bit of extra wow factor that makes a property listing stand out.
