Matterport & 360 Virtual Tours in Lincoln & Lincolnshire
Tours for Lincolnshire trade counters, showrooms, industrial sites, venues and care homes. A completed Boston project on this page, with travel included in the price.
Most virtual tour marketing is aimed at glossy buildings, boutique hotels, penthouses, wedding barns with fairy lights. The work I have done in Lincolnshire looks nothing like that, and it is more useful for it. A builders' merchant, a tile showroom, a food processing unit or a rural care home has a genuine problem that a tour solves: the customer, the buyer or the family member needs to understand a layout they cannot easily come and see, and a set of six photographs does not get them there.
The example on this page is MKM Building Supplies in Boston, scanned in Matterport. It is not a beautiful building and it was never meant to be. What the scan does is show a contractor how the yard and the counter are laid out and where the stock sits, and it gives the branch a way to walk a new starter round before their first shift. That second use comes up more often than people expect, and it is a reason a working site gets more from a tour than a showpiece one. This work sits within my virtual tour services across the UK, and Lincolnshire is a run I am happy to make.
The county's geography is part of the argument. Lincolnshire is large, thinly connected and a long way from most of the country, so a lot of enquiries come from people who are not going to make a speculative visit. That applies to a contractor deciding which merchant to use, a buyer looking at a rural property from two counties away, and a family choosing a care home for a parent. In each case the tour is not decoration, it is the thing that stops a wasted journey.
Scheduling is the part worth getting right. Trade counters and showrooms are scanned before opening, after closing or on a quiet weekday, so nobody appears in the finished tour and nothing is in the way. Industrial sites are worked area by area around a shift pattern. Care homes are scanned room by room when rooms are unoccupied, never while a resident is in them. None of that costs more, it simply needs deciding when the date is booked rather than on the morning.
Who Uses Virtual Tours in Lincolnshire?
Six types of Lincolnshire client who commission this work, and the specific problem a tour solves for each.
Trade counters & builders' merchants
This is the sector that brought me to Lincolnshire. A trade counter is not trying to look beautiful, it is trying to show a contractor that the yard is easy to get into, that the racking holds what they need, and that the counter is not a twenty minute queue. My Matterport scan of MKM Building Supplies in Boston does that job, and it doubles as an induction tool for new staff who need to learn where everything lives.
Showrooms & retail
Bathroom, kitchen, tile and flooring showrooms all suffer the same problem: the displays are the product, and a photograph shows six of them out of forty. A tour lets a customer browse the whole floor before driving to Lincoln or Grantham, which means the visits you get are from people who already know you stock what they want.
Industrial, agricultural & processing sites
Lincolnshire runs on food processing, agriculture and light industry, and those buildings are genuinely hard to photograph in a way anyone understands. A tour is more useful than stills for a landlord marketing a unit, for a buyer assessing a facility from a distance, and for a business that needs to show a customer or an auditor round without stopping production for a site visit.
Hotels, pubs & venues
Lincoln's visitor trade sits around the cathedral quarter and the steep hill, in buildings full of character and awkward layouts. A tour answers the questions that fill an inbox, whether the room is up two flights, how the restaurant relates to the bar, what the function room really looks like when it is set for sixty.
Care homes & retirement living
Care decisions are usually made under pressure by a family member who does not live locally, which is a common situation in a county as spread out as Lincolnshire. A tour lets that person see a lounge, a corridor and a bedroom without a long drive, and it removes any suspicion that something is being kept out of shot. Rooms are only ever scanned when they are unoccupied.
Property marketing across Lincolnshire
Between Lincoln, Boston, Grantham and the coast, a lot of buyers are looking from outside the county, and rural properties are often a long drive from anywhere. A Matterport scan with a floorplan and a measurement tool saves everyone a wasted trip and filters out the viewings that were never going to convert.
Three of those sectors have their own pages with more detail on how the shoots are run: commercial photography, hotel photography and care home photography.

Matterport, trade & retailMKM Building Supplies, Boston, A Matterport scan of a builders' merchant in Boston, covering the trade counter, the showroom areas and the layout customers actually have to navigate. It is a useful example because it shows the format working on a practical, working building rather than a polished venue, and because a scan like this earns its keep twice, once in marketing and once as an induction tool for new staff.
