Matterport & 360 Virtual Tours in York & North Yorkshire

Tours for Yorkshire care settings, hotels, wedding venues and schools. Two completed North Yorkshire projects on this page, with travel included in the price.

The most useful virtual tours I have built in North Yorkshire were not commissioned to sell anything. They were commissioned because the person who most needed to see the building could not easily get there. That is the situation in almost every care and healthcare enquiry: a family member living in another county, a fortnight to make a decision, and a website that shows six flattering photographs and a floorplan drawn in 1998. A tour replaces the guesswork with something the family can walk through at eleven at night, which is usually when these decisions get thought about.

The clearest example on this page is the Brainkind neurological centre in York, built as a bespoke 360 tour rather than a platform-hosted scan. Families use it to understand the environment before an initial visit, and referring clinicians use it to judge whether the facility suits a particular placement. Because it is a bespoke tour the organisation owns it outright, it carries their branding, and there is no annual hosting invoice attached. This work sits inside my UK-wide virtual tour services, and Yorkshire is a run I make regularly.

The second tour is a different kind of building entirely. Wray's Barn at Whinstone View near Great Ayton is a barn venue on the edge of the Moors, scanned in Matterport so couples enquiring from outside the county can see how the whole space fits together rather than a set of pretty corners. Venues get more from a tour than almost anyone, because a couple is buying a day they cannot yet picture, and the questions they ask are practical ones about arrival, ceremony, bar and wet weather.

How the shoot is scheduled matters more than the camera. Care settings are worked around residents entirely, room by room, and nothing is scanned while it is occupied. Offices are scanned early, at lunch or at a weekend so desks are clear. Venues are best shot dressed rather than bare, because an empty barn undersells itself. None of that costs extra, it simply needs deciding when the date goes in the diary rather than on the morning.

Who Uses Virtual Tours in North Yorkshire?

Six types of Yorkshire client who commission this work, and the specific problem a tour solves for each.

Healthcare, neuro rehab & care settings

This is the sector that brought me to York. When a family is choosing a neurological rehabilitation unit or a care home, the person making the decision often lives a long way from the building and cannot visit three times before committing. A tour lets them walk a corridor, a bedroom and a therapy space from home, and it lets a referring clinician assess a facility properly before making a placement. My bespoke 360 tour of the Brainkind centre in York was built for exactly those two audiences.

Hotels, inns & heritage venues

York's visitor economy runs on buildings that are interesting precisely because they are awkward, low beams, narrow stairs, rooms tucked into a Georgian townhouse. Photographs flatter those spaces but leave a guest guessing about layout. A tour answers the questions that generate emails, whether the room is up two flights, how the bar relates to the dining room, what the courtyard is actually like.

Wedding & barn venues

A couple booking a Yorkshire barn is trying to picture a day that does not exist yet, usually from a long way away. My Matterport scan of Wray's Barn at Whinstone View near Great Ayton shows how the space works as a whole rather than as a set of pretty details, where guests arrive, where a ceremony sits relative to the bar, and what happens when it rains, which in North Yorkshire is a reasonable question.

Schools, colleges & universities

Yorkshire schools and universities recruit nationally and internationally, and an open day is a single afternoon. A tour lets a family walk a boarding house, a dining hall or a science block on their own time, from another county or another country, and it keeps working between open days rather than only on them.

Offices & commercial space

York and Harrogate office stock is often converted period buildings split floor by floor, which is the situation a tour handles better than a photo set. A prospective tenant or a graduate candidate can move between levels and understand how reception, meeting rooms and working floors relate, instead of assembling that from disconnected images.

Property marketing across North Yorkshire

A significant share of buyers looking at York, Harrogate and the villages between the Moors and the Dales are relocating from elsewhere, so the first viewing happens on a screen whether you planned for it or not. A Matterport scan with a floorplan and a measurement tool gives a relocating buyer far more than another gallery of stills.

Four of those sectors have their own pages with more detail on how the shoots are run: care home photography, hotel photography, wedding venue photography and education virtual tours.

Bespoke 360, healthcareBrainkind Neurological Centre, York, A bespoke 360 tour of a neurological rehabilitation centre in York, built so families and referring clinicians can see the environment properly without an initial visit. It was scanned as a branded bespoke tour rather than a platform-hosted scan, which means the organisation owns it outright with no annual hosting cost, and the navigation could be designed around how a visitor would actually be shown the building.

Google Review

Absolutely incredible work — I only wish I'd found Matthew sooner, it would have saved so much time and money. We had a very challenging Matterport scanning project across a 14-room, 6-floor, 375-year-old building, and Matthew approached every detail with patience and precision to get the result absolutely perfect. Exceptional service from start to finish. Highly recommended.
