From London townhouses to Edinburgh New Town flats, I cover the UK's biggest property markets. Here's what makes each city unique and why professional photography matters everywhere.

01Why I Photograph Properties Across the Entire UK

I'm based in Somerset, and most of my work takes me around Bristol, Bath, and the South West. But over the past 17 years, I've built a reputation that takes me much further afield. Estate agents, developers, and homeowners across the UK's biggest cities now book me for their most important listings — and I love every minute of it.

This post is my city-by-city guide to the nationwide property photography service I offer. Each city has its own character, its own property styles, and its own marketing challenges. I've photographed in all of them, and I want to share what I've learned.

02London: The UK's Most Competitive Market

With average prices above £500,000 and some of the most discerning buyers in the world, property photography in London demands the highest standards. I regularly photograph Georgian townhouses in Kensington, converted warehouses in Shoreditch, and modern penthouses in Canary Wharf.

What makes London unique is the sheer variety. In a single day I might shoot a period conversion in Islington, a mews house in Chelsea, and a new-build apartment in Nine Elms. Every property needs a different approach, and that's where 17 years of experience really counts.

03Manchester: A City Transformed

Property photography in Manchester has become one of my most regular nationwide bookings. The city's property market has exploded in recent years, with the Northern Quarter, Ancoats, and Salford Quays attracting buyers and investors from across the country.

Manchester's mix of converted Victorian warehouses, modern city-centre apartments, and leafy suburban homes in Didsbury and Chorlton makes it a fascinating city to photograph. The industrial heritage creates incredible backdrops — exposed brick, steel beams, and canal-side settings that look stunning in professional photos.

04Birmingham: The Second City

As the UK's second-largest city, property photography in Birmingham covers everything from the canal-side apartments of Brindleyplace to the Edwardian villas of Moseley and Harborne. The city has undergone massive regeneration, and the property market reflects that energy.

I particularly enjoy photographing Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter conversions and the grand Victorian properties in Edgbaston. The city's diverse architecture means every shoot is different, and the growing market means agents need professional photography more than ever to stand out.

05Leeds: Yorkshire's Property Powerhouse

The property photography market in Leeds is driven by a strong economy, excellent universities, and a vibrant cultural scene. From the waterfront apartments along the River Aire to the stone-built Victorian terraces of Headingley and Chapel Allerton, Leeds offers incredible variety.

What I love about photographing in Leeds is the quality of light you get with the Yorkshire stone. Those honey-coloured facades look absolutely stunning in the right conditions, and knowing how to capture that warmth is something that comes with experience.

06Liverpool: Architectural Character Like Nowhere Else

Property photography in Liverpool is a joy because of the city's extraordinary architecture. The Georgian terraces of Falkner Square, the waterfront developments along the docks, and the grand Victorian villas around Sefton Park — Liverpool's housing stock has a character that's hard to match anywhere in the UK.

The city also offers exceptional value compared to other major cities, which means the property market is attracting growing interest from investors. Professional photography helps these properties compete for attention on the portals and achieve the best possible prices.

07Edinburgh: Scotland's Most Prestigious Market

Photographing properties in Edinburgh is always special. The Edinburgh property photography service I offer covers everything from the medieval Old Town to the elegant Georgian New Town, and the challenge is always capturing the extraordinary character of these buildings.

Edinburgh's traditional Scottish tenement flats have unique features — high ceilings, ornate cornicing, sash windows — that need to be photographed with care. The dramatic city views, from Arthur's Seat to the Castle, add another dimension that aerial photography captures beautifully.

08Glasgow: Red Sandstone and Riverside

The Glasgow property photography market offers incredible diversity. The red sandstone tenements of the West End are some of the most photogenic residential buildings in the UK, while the converted warehouses of the Merchant City and the modern riverside developments along the Clyde provide completely different challenges.

Glasgow's property market offers outstanding value, and professional photography is one of the most cost-effective ways for agents to differentiate their listings. When I photograph in Glasgow, I often combine it with Edinburgh work to make the trip even more efficient for clients.

09Sheffield: Steel City Meets Peak District

The Sheffield property photography market benefits from the city's unique position between urban regeneration and the Peak District National Park. Properties range from the converted industrial buildings of Kelham Island to the stone-built homes of the western suburbs with views over the Peaks.

Sheffield's mix of city and countryside creates fantastic opportunities for photography. A single property might have industrial-chic interiors and views of rolling hills from the garden — capturing both elements in one shoot is what makes professional photography so valuable here.

10Nottingham: Historic Heart, Modern Market

Property photography in Nottingham covers a market that's growing fast. The city's Victorian architecture in areas like The Park and Mapperley Park is stunning, while the Lace Market conversions and modern developments around the canal basin attract a younger, design-conscious buyer.

Nottingham's university population drives a strong rental market too, and landlords are increasingly recognising that professional photography helps their properties let faster and to better tenants.

11Newcastle: Tyneside Character

The Newcastle property photography market is characterised by the city's distinctive Tyneside flats, the grand terraces of Jesmond, and the modern quayside developments along the Tyne. Newcastle has a property market with real character, and professional photography captures what makes these homes special.

I particularly enjoy photographing the period properties in Jesmond and Gosforth — the bay windows, high ceilings, and original features of these Victorian and Edwardian homes deserve to be shown at their best.

12What's Included in My Nationwide Packages

All my nationwide packages start from £299 and include:

  • Professional HDR photography
  • Drone aerial shots as standard
  • 48-hour delivery
  • Travel from my Somerset base
  • Full-resolution images for web and print

I also offer Matterport 3D virtual tours, twilight photography, express 24-hour delivery, and property styling as add-ons. The pricing is transparent — no hidden extras, no surprise travel charges.

13Why Choose a Somerset-Based Photographer?

You might wonder why agents in London or Manchester would book a photographer from Somerset. The answer is simple: consistency, quality, and value. I bring the same professional standard to every shoot, whether it's a cottage in Cheddar or a penthouse in Canary Wharf. My rates are competitive because I don't carry the overheads of a city-centre studio, and I pass those savings on to my clients.

For agents with multiple listings across different cities, using a single photographer means a consistent look across your entire portfolio. That brand consistency is worth its weight in gold when you're competing for vendor instructions.
