It’s now a bustling hub with sleek apartment blocks, townhouses, and a lively waterfront with cafes and restaurants.
Photographing properties in Portishead, particularly around the marina, is all about capturing a contemporary, aspirational lifestyle. The architecture is clean and modern, with lots of glass and balconies to make the most of the water views. My drone is an indispensable tool here. An elevated shot showing a property's proximity to the water, the yachts bobbing in the marina, and the expanse of the Severn Estuary can be a powerful selling point. The wide-open skies and reflections from the Bristol Channel create a soft, natural light that is incredibly flattering for property exteriors. While some photographers achieve great results with complex flash setups, I find that harnessing this beautiful natural light with expert HDR blending produces the most authentic and inviting images.
