Light and atmosphere. A freshly renovated property should feel warm and inviting, not clinical. I shot with natural light wherever possible, using HDR to balance the bright windows with the interior, creating images that feel lived-in and welcoming.
03The Kitchen
The kitchen is the centrepiece of this renovation. Sage green cabinetry with a built-in oven, herringbone wood flooring, and a Valencia oranges art print on the wall create a space that feels both contemporary and characterful. I shot this to show the full layout, the relationship between the cooking area and the window overlooking the garden, and the styling details that make this kitchen feel like a real home.
A tighter composition shows the quality of the cabinetry, the integrated appliances, and the decorative ladder shelf styled with plants and dried flowers. These detail shots are important for renovation properties because they communicate the level of investment and the quality of materials used. 04The Living Spaces
The main living room combines period features, the bay window looking out onto the Victorian terrace opposite, with contemporary furniture: a green corduroy sofa, a mid-century velvet armchair, and nested walnut coffee tables. I positioned the shot to show the full depth of the room and the way the natural light falls across the space.
An alternate angle of the living room shows the green velvet armchair, the vintage wooden sideboard with a retro radio beneath the bay window, and the snake plant adding a touch of greenery. These lifestyle-oriented images help buyers imagine themselves in the space, which is ultimately what drives viewings.
The oak sliding barn doors are a standout feature of this renovation. They separate the living spaces while maintaining an open, flowing feel. I photographed through the doorway to show the desk nook on the left, the barn door hardware, and the sage green kitchen visible beyond, highlighting how the spaces connect.
05The Hallway and Study
Hallway shots are often overlooked, but in a renovation property they serve an important purpose. They show the flow between rooms, the quality of the flooring throughout, and the overall sense of space. This shot captures the bench seating, the compact desk nook with wire chair and anglepoise lamp, and the view through to the green sofa and armchair in the living room beyond, demonstrating how the ground floor works as a connected whole.
