Quick Answer

The Property Photo Guy, run by Matthew Evans, offers professional property photography services in Wedmore, Somerset. Starting from £175, the service includes drone photography and a 48-hour turnaround to help homeowners and estate agents market their listings effectively. This comprehensive package is designed to attract more potential buyers and achieve a faster sale.

Wedmore is one of those Somerset villages that has it all: a thriving high street with independent shops and cafes, a beautiful medieval church, stunning countryside views across the Somerset Levels, and a strong sense of community. It's consistently ranked among the best places to live in Somerset, and properties here are highly sought after. Professional photography that captures Wedmore's unique character is essential for marketing homes in this premium location. I've photographed properties throughout Wedmore and the surrounding hamlets, and it's one of my favourite villages to work in, the combination of period architecture, incredible Levels views, and that thriving high street gives every shoot a real sense of place.

01Why Wedmore Commands Premium Photography

Properties in Wedmore don't come up for sale often, and when they do, they attract significant interest. Buyers are typically drawn by the village's reputation, its community feel, the quality of local amenities, and the beautiful Somerset Levels setting.

This means the photography needs to match the premium nature of the location. In my experience, Wedmore buyers are particularly discerning, many are relocating from London or Bristol and they're comparing properties online before making the trip. Standard property photos won't do justice to a Wedmore home. Buyers expect to see the character of the property, the views, the garden, and the village setting, all captured to the highest standard.

02The Wedmore Property Market

Wedmore's property market is characterised by period homes with character, larger detached properties with gardens and views, and a small number of new builds that blend with the village's traditional architecture.

Period village houses along The Borough and the surrounding lanes are the quintessential Wedmore properties. Stone-built with character features, these homes need photography that captures their charm while showing they're practical, well-maintained, and full of light.

Larger country properties on the edges of Wedmore often have substantial grounds with views across the Somerset Levels to Glastonbury Tor or the Mendip Hills. Drone photography is essential for these properties, showing the full extent of the gardens and the spectacular setting. I shot a farmhouse conversion just outside Wedmore last autumn where the drone footage of the Levels at sunset genuinely took my breath away, the agent told me it was the most-viewed listing they'd ever had.

Properties in surrounding hamlets like Theale, Blackford, Heath House, and Cocklake are part of the wider Wedmore community. These often offer more space and land, and the photography needs to capture both the individual property and its relationship to the village.

03Drone Photography Over the Somerset Levels

Wedmore sits on the Isle of Wedmore, a low ridge rising above the flat Somerset Levels. This elevated position means many properties have far-reaching views, and drone photography captures these beautifully.

Aerial shots from Wedmore can show the Levels stretching out to the horizon, Glastonbury Tor in the distance, the Mendip Hills to the north, and the patchwork of fields and rhynes that make this landscape so distinctive. I've found that the best time for drone work around Wedmore is early morning in autumn, when mist sits in the Levels valleys and the ridge stands clear above it, the effect is almost magical. For buyers relocating from cities, these images are incredibly powerful, they show a quality of life and a connection to nature that's hard to find elsewhere.

04Capturing Wedmore's Village Character

One of Wedmore's biggest selling points is the village itself. The high street has a proper butcher, a deli, cafes, a village store, pubs, and a range of independent shops. The village has an active community with events throughout the year.

While I don't typically photograph the village high street as part of a property shoot, the photography should convey the sense of place. Shots of the property that include glimpses of the church tower, the surrounding countryside, or the village rooftops help buyers understand what it means to live in Wedmore.

05Lifestyle Photography for Wedmore Properties

Buyers choosing Wedmore are buying a lifestyle, village life, countryside walks, community events, Sunday lunches at the local pub. Lifestyle photography that captures this resonates strongly.

A kitchen table set for breakfast with a view of the garden, a reading nook by a window overlooking the Levels, a terrace with a glass of wine as the sun sets over Glastonbury Tor, these images tell the story of life in Wedmore and help buyers make that emotional connection.
