Property Photography Editing Workflow Guide
A dependable editing workflow protects the files, the deadline and the quality of a final gallery. Software matters, but a clear sequence matters just as much.
Organise before you edit
Copy files promptly, create a clear job folder and back up before formatting a card. Group bracketed images and identify the actual deliverable before starting, whether the client needs a simple listing gallery or several outputs.
- Use a repeatable folder and file-naming system
- Keep originals, working files and exports separate
- Make a second backup before a card is reused
Use each tool for the job it handles well
A RAW editor is useful for broad exposure, colour, lens and crop corrections. HDR or blending tools can help when the scene needs more range. A pixel editor is helpful for careful finishing that does not misrepresent the space.
- Apply lens corrections and vertical alignment early
- Keep white balance consistent in connected rooms
- Use bracket blending with restraint around windows and moving details
Deliver a gallery the client can use
Review the gallery as a viewer will experience it. The lead image, main rooms, supporting views and exterior should form a coherent journey. Check requested sizes and delivery links before the handover.
- Review the order as well as each image
- Check for colour shifts and soft frames
- Archive the delivered set for genuine follow-up requests
